Lisa Williams is more then just an avid singer
and songwriter, she is a singer / songwriter. Her craft cannot
be labeled by a mere adjective that enhances the definition
of her craft. She re-defines these terms and lives what she
writes about. Composing about what she knows, and from the heart,
pouring out exactly what she intends for her audience to hear
and experience. She carefully chooses words, song titles, and
images to weave a tapestry whose threads interlock ever-so intricately
through pure lyrics and potent acoustic guitar sound. The entirety
of it all will find its niche inside of you and dig its way
to the bottom, uprooting anything but honesty. Performing
up and down the Mid-Atlantic, Lisa has packed out some of
Maryland’s local-legendary places such as 49
West, and Year of the Rabbit. She
is currently writing for her newest release, which has yet
to be named. However, based on her most recent live performances,
it will undoubtedly be her strongest release to date.
Lisa
was most recently discovered on the college radio spot. Having
been the #3 most added CD of the week of
July 2003 allowing for at very least, 1-3 times per
week of playing time, she charted #18 on WCCS in Boston
and #16 on Norton Mass. The Norton Mass station
returned for a medium-heavy play setup allowing Lisa’s
Capturing the Feel CD to be played at least 6-9 times per
week. This was the only the beginning of the climax of the
155 college radio station promotion that
she self-funded. It’s also important to note that Lisa
has received rave reviews from the Washington Post
and from Nashville Music Consultants, and after winning fourth
place in Solo Records' 1999 Artist Showcase; she
is quickly becoming an unstoppable force. In May of 1999,
Lisa was showcased in a competition for the opening slot at
Lillith Fair the following year, picked among the top twenty
out of 200 artists that entered.
